Spring Spur Durif 2022

Durif is a spicy, full-bodied red wine bursting with flavour and intense colour. It is renowned for its robust, mouth-drying tannins and velvety dark fruit. It is well known in the North East and widely grown in our neighbouring region of Rutherglen.

The 2022 Durif shows all of the hallmarks of the variety while adding layering of the more savoury characters of chocolate and peat. Tannins add good structure while remaining smooth and approachable.

Fruit from the Mulcahy vineyard was picked in April and fermented in open top stainless steel before being pressed and transferred to Flexcube and new French oak. After undergoing malolactic fermentation the wine was blended and bottled after 18 months in oak.
