Spring Spur Pinotage 2021

A stellar South African variety not common in Australia, it is comparable to an Aussie shiraz but is in fact a cross between Cinsaut and pinot noir.

This Pinotage delivers all the intensity of dark juicy fruit and chewy tannins you would expect but remains approachable and fun.

Hand picked fruit from the Greenacres Vineyard in Merriang South was destemmed and fermented in open tubs with a small percentage of whole bunches. Gentle cap management and temperature control ensured a steady ferment. The wine was then pressed to finish its ferment in older oak barrels where it aged for 10 months prior to bottling.
