The Variety
A light, crisp, fruit driven Italian variety that layers crisp acidity with soft palate texture. There is more to a Vermentino than it seems at first glance, a discerning taster will enjoy the complexity this approachable wine can offer. It is a crowd pleaser and pairs well with medium weight dishes.
Tasting Notes
True to its variety, this Vermentino shows aromas of spring fruit and citrus. Hints of spice and minerality add complexity to the palate which is followed through with a zippy natural acidity that creates a long finish.
Winemaking
Fruit from the Ferraro vineyard in Myrtleford was picked and processed through a selective destemmer before being pneumatically pressed into stainless steel. After partial settling was complete the juice was transferred to a combination of stainless steel and a flexcube to undergo alcoholic fermentation using different selected yeast strains. Once the fermentation was complete, the parcels were then blended together again for some time on lees before bottling in September.
